Step 1 - Preparation
To kick things off, make sure to shield the wall and floor surrounding your Radiator with a protective sheet to catch any potential drips. Also, mask off the valves and vents using tape. Remember, before starting to spray paint the radiator it's crucial that your radiator is cold to the touch, so turn off your heating system to prevent unwanted blistering. To ensure adequate ventilation, open the windows in the room.
Step 2. Purify and Dry
Start by giving your Radiator a thorough clean. Begin by vacuuming, followed by wiping it down with a slightly damp cloth to eliminate any lingering contaminants such as dirt or dust. Always ensure that the radiator’s surface is completely dry before proceeding with the painting process.
Step 3. Degrease, Sand, Paint
Previously painted surfaces or factory finishes should be prepped by abrading and degreasing them with Innov8 Coatings Pre Cleaner. Prepare your radiator by sanding it to eliminate rust, irregularities, old paint, or any impediments that could affect the final finish. Now, you're all set to begin the exciting part of spraying your Radiators. Application is a breeze. Spray an even coat over the entire surface of the Radiator. Be cautious not to spray too close to the surface; maintaining a distance of approximately 10cm is ideal.
Repeat the process until the entire surface is covered, allowing 5 to 10 minutes between each coat. The surface will be touch dry within 1 – 2 hours.
